Hunting deer with decoys?

I guess this matters more for bow hunting than gun hunting, when you need the deer to be closer. If any of you hunt with deer decoys, what happens when a deer gets close and discovers that your decoy is not a real deer? Does it spook them? I had a situation opening morning where 6 deer were pushed into a food plot I was hunting. One buck, one doe, and a couple of fawns and maybe another doe. They kept on moving through, and I wondered if they would've stopped if they saw a decoy 'feeding' there. If a non-shooter got there first and I waited for a shooter to present himself, would the non-shooter spook and alert the other deer, or do they just check it out and move on? -JerryC
