There's close to 2 million acres of public land in Georgia you can hunt.
I know there are plenty of people that don't hunt public land because they think it's too crowded or dangerous but... I love hunting public land and I surely appreciate all the that DNR does to provide us with this as an option. I couldn't have done nearly the hunting I have in other places besides at home if it weren't for public land. The price of the license is a small price to pay for what you're getting in return, especially when compared to lease prices. What Charlie said, "close to 2 million acres" I'm going to bet there are many who agree with me or it wouldn't be so hard to get drawn for these quota hunts. Don't forget, there are plenty of opportunities to hunt that aren't quota too. Thank you to the Georgia DNR Wildlife Resources Division for all you do
