This year I started using Extinguish, got it on amazon....from their bottle-Extinguish Plus Fire Ant Bait pest control product is highly attractive to fire ants. It combines the killing speed of an adulticide (Hydramethylnon) and the long-lasting control of an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) (S)-Methoprene.

I prefer to attack the bed.

Triazacide concentrate in a 1 gallon sprayer and a rake.
Spray a 2 foot radius around the bed for escapees. Disturb the bed with the rake and when they come out to fight.
Spray the bed directly and enjoy the carnage.

That igr is where it's at. We use archer and bifen when battling ants and fleas. Works great to break the cycle.
