License ?

My brother and I own 56 acres in Georgia but both live in NC. The out of state license fee for trapping has always keep me from trapping there. I have been woundering if I can get the free permit to trap on our land?

Landowner trapping permit (free) requires a copy of your drivers license which if from NC may not qualify you. On top of that, you are required to check traps daily which may be cumbersome if you are not just over the state line. If up to me, I say, take all the GA coyotes you want.

I don't mean to insinuate that anyone would deliberately mislead you, but asking questions on a forum about the legality of something is not the wisest course of action. Contact the Georgia DNR directly and you might avoid a lot of heartache. Write down who you speak with and what they tell you in case of any misunderstanding with wardens/rangers.

Landowner trapping license is only applicable to residents. Just like hunting license.
