I'm looking at a used mad river canoe passage 14 to haul in my truck rather than try to transport my big canoe. Any one have experience with this unit? Would it be suitable for a 65 yr old 250 lb , 6' 7" Ol Captain and a small hound?

I think that model weighs about 75 lbs. There are some lighter models available.

Hey Captain after i retired i gave up the paddling for a solo skiff platform. You can still paddle or use a trolling motor which i did until i recently bought a 2.5 suzuki. I fish mostly Lanier. I carry mine in back of truck with bed extender and back down ramp to water and slide off. My brother uses a 14 foot trailer hes about 275lbs and has a solo also. Just throwing options out there. Also have room for my hound.
