Restaurants and terrible fries?

I agree. I am a french fry addict. Five Guys has really good fries, as does Fuddruckers. One gripe I also have is that many restaurants tend to either over-season the fries to where you can't taste the taters any more, or put way too much salt on them.



Agreed.


I guess I avoid the disappointment by seldom ordering fries in a restaurant.


I'd rather make my own.


That pretty much sums it up on restaurants in general, though.

Fries are suppose to be crispy. Sonnys BBQ fries are always consistently crispy.I hate limp fries.

I'm old enough to remember when McDonalds was on their 4th million of burgers with a big sign advertising how many were being sold and they only had one. They also had a fry cutter like that one fixed to the wall and cut fresh fries. "Those were the days my friends . . ."

And they fried them in beef tallow until 1990.
