Mailbox makeover

I've had a piece of a cedar tree that was pulled out of a pond we drained about 10 yrs ago. It was submerged for over 20 years. Had an idea to use it for a mailbox post a while back and finally did it on Saturday. I think it turned it well....

I have pretty good neighbors. On occasion a few hoodlums from the cowboy college south of here like to ride these dirt roads .... that could pose a problem! :smash:

Nice,,,, looks great,,,, had a guy run off the road and into the ditch in front of our house a couple weeks ago,,,, saw the tracks,,,, busted our 4x4 mailbox post at ground level,,,, busted it right off,,,, it was cemented 3ft down,,,, I know it did some damage,,,, did he stop to tell me,,,, no,,,, probably drinking,,,, anyhow it warmed up,,,, got my boy out with the post hole shovel,,,, got her back in,,,,

Thanks for the replies!! I took a chain saw to it to cut a flat surface to mount the box on--- it was about like cutting a steel post!!
