We need a cheerleader draft! :bounce:
My first impulse was "Oregon", and you guys didn't disappoint!

Yep, Ridley was a gift left on the table...but we need somebody to protect Ryan, as he's always running for his life!!!
You can find solid linemen in the middle rounds, a guy like Ridley, you've pretty much got to take him if he's available where the Falcons were picking. Addressing needs is one thing, but passing on a dynamic playmaker to address need with lesser talent is foolish.

My Packers did a couple of backflips, and a cartwheel, but we ended up with a solid CB prospect in Jaire Alexander, and also The Saints' 2019 first round pick. If the Falcons could spend 2018 whoopin' up on the Ain'ts, that'd be greeeeeeat. :stir:::ke::cheers:

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...quicksnap-grades-for-every-team-through-day-2

2018 NFL Draft: Quick-snap grades for every team through Day 2

Atlanta Falcons

Draft picks:

Alabama WR Calvin Ridley (No. 26 overall),

Colorado CB Isaiah Oliver (No. 58 overall),

South Florida DT Deadrin Senat (No. 90 overall).

Day 1 grade: B+

Day 2 grade: A

Overall grade: A-

The skinny: Even though the team had needs on defense that Taven Bryan and others could have met, it's tough to blame Thomas Dimitroff for taking a good value in Ridley. Ridley's quickness will complement Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu quite well, especially with Andre Roberts and Taylor Gabriel no longer with the team. The Falcons got more good value in the second round, picking Oliver, who is long and can adjust to the ball down the sideline quite well. They addressed the nose tackle position in the third round, taking Senat, who presents strength and quickness off the ball that could be a real issue for offensive lines, much like current Falcon Grady Jarrett.

Yale LB Foyesade Oluokun (No. 200 overall).

Day 1 grade: B+

Day 2 grade: A

Day 3 grade: B

Overall grade: B+

Smith was picked a bit higher than expected in the fourth round but is a good back with all-around skills, and has very good size. Gage will be a special-teams ace for the Falcons.

Nice seeing Falcons add some more defensive line help.

FALCONS AGREE TO TERMS WITH DEFENSIVE TACKLE TERRELL MCCLAIN

Posted 1 hour ago

Falcons agreed to terms with defensive tackle Terrell McClain on Friday

McClain, 29, has played seven seasons in the NFL, most recently playing for the Washington Redskins last year. In a rotational role, McClain recorded 20 tackles, two sacks and a fumble recovery for the Redskins.

6-foot-2, 302-pound defensive tackle appears to be a good fit for what the Falcons are looking for on the defensive line

McClain’s most productive seasons came with the Dallas Cowboys, where he played from 2014-16

In his NFL career, McClain has played in 74 games with 29 starts after being selected by the Carolina Panthers in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft.

McClain will be reunited with his former Cowboys teammate Jack Crawford, who joined the Falcons last offseason after playing the previous three seasons in Dallas.
