Help With Shotgun?

Posted in Waterfowl, but got directed here! I have an old, rather beat up, Stoeger M2000 shotgun that I duck hunt with. In my last cleaning session I must have messed up something when removing the trigger assembly. Now the "Cartridge Drop Lever" (See Picture) does not function. Anytime I feed a shell into the tube, it immediately releases itself into place to be cycled. This prevents me from loading more than one shell unless I forcibly hold the shell in the tube while I load more behind it. I have googled and fiddled with the gun for a few days, but do not really know what to do. Any idea of how to fix it?

Glad you got it. Always frustrating when you get jammed up on something like this.
