NC looking at allowing gator hunting

So North Carolina is thinking of a gator season of some sort.

Is gator hunting a big economic boon in GA?

Does it bring in lots of revenue?

I second that, John is your guy for that question.
My question is, where do they have gator population that is big
enough for harvest?

Looking at SC where we give out 1,000 tags, they had 863 pay $100 for the tag. They received around 5,000 requests at $10/each.

So that is $136,000. Out of state hunters pay more so another $25,000 roughly.

Besides this, I assume each group spends about $400 where maybe half goes toward local economy.

So SCDNR numbers may be $160K and local economy gets maybe $200 X 600 hunting groups (not all actually go hunting) = $140K

Not a "big" economic boon but worth the effort.
