Ah, mid-west, bow makes sense now....thought you were just that confident you could kill this beast with the stick n string and left the rifle at home. ;^)

Edit: I see Illinois in the title now. Duh. lol
 
Maybe I'm wrong, but I read this as the poster adding to the poetic charm of the hunt that was illustrated by the OP. As in, the brute of a buck would have disagreed with the ownership of who "owned" the hill.
If I'm wrong, then the following comments are well warranted. If I'm not, another case of . . . . well nevermind. Carry on. . . . :cheers:

Aaahhhh, if Mr LaGrange meant it in that context - I apologize completely.

It is a great beast and unfortunately - negativity often creeps into the best of reports on the forum.

Again - if wrong, I stand corrected and apologize!
