Surf fishing rig swivels

Are number 7 crane swivels (65 lb) good enough for general surf fishing rigs for fish like whiting croaker and pompano?

They will be fine as long as they are not so small that they will jam inside your sliding sinker or sinker holder (assuming you are fishing that kind of rig). If they are that small, use a bead between the sinker and the knot holding the swivel.
