Public land dove hunt

Thinking about applying for a dove permit on a public field for $150 for 6 hunts. Haven't hunted dove much since I was a kid and don't have a dog. In y'alls opinion is it worth it? I've heard a lot of stories of people getting peppered on public fields before. Also if you have any tips that'd be highly appreciated.

I recommend you get dog? It will end up being a life time experience next me and Drake scouted and hunted several WMA last year and had a blast, go for it!!

When you write of a public field, do you mean a private field open to anyone? What is typically referred to as a public field is a Wildlife Management Area (WMA), and those only cost a fee that allows you to go onto any WMA in the state for any kind of hunting.
Hopefully no one is trying to charge to hunt on a WMA.
If this is a private field, I think $150 is a good price for 6 hunts.

West Point wma usually is pretty good. They plant millet and burn it the week before
