A lot of the small feed stores/old hunting stores don't have websites or very active ones, so google is useless.

Have you checked Craigslist? I once bought a regal dog box with top storage for $40 that was useable but I did some minor repairs here and there and then got a Unique brand diamond plated dog box in a trade and sold the regal although I miss the top storage, and it wouldn't fit in my own truck now.
