It is coastal plain chert, we have some that has a rough texture and have some like this is really good quality.

It was named by Sassaman (1985) according to Georgia book and before the Allendale name it was called the MALA point middle archaic late archaic and it is not shown in a lot of the identification books. it is a localized point along both sides of Savannah River.
