i have a lease in Harris county just south of waverly hall.
it has some creeks but mostly planted pines. i have always hunted hardwoods. are there any secrets to hunting in the big pines? i was thinking of rattling some in early gun season.
deer love it in the pines once the hunting pressure is on. you have to keep in mind that deer tracks and trails arent easy to see in pine straw. dont count out hunting it just because you dont notice beat down trails. as far as rattling in it I would try to back myself up agaist a opening or some kind of obstruction. I think they will be more prone to getting down wind of you in pines.
