Bore Scope

If you want an inexpensive option, look on Amazon for the "Whitetail'R SnakeEYE Camera" for about $42.

It comes with a CD that has an operating program, adapter to fit cell phone or computer plugs and a tiny camera with LED lights on a 6' cable. This camera is enough to find the touchhole on my .45cal muzzleloader with a 43" barrel and identify pitting. The picture isn't great, but unless you are looking for microscopic flaws, it is an inexpensive alternative to a real borescope.

I have a Hawkeye. Imo, a great bore scope is indispensable for the serious rifle competitor or anyone seeking the ultimate in accuracy. Ditto for someone doing chambering. Lots of bullets, primers, powder, time' etc get wasted on bbls that will never shoot up to expectations. Lots of primers, powder, etc get wasted on bbls that just need a proper cleaning, also. Bore scope lets you find these things out.

I have a 22" and 7" Hawk Eye. Also have an Illuminator for them that is much brighter and rechargeable.
