Have a wedding to go to in April about an hour south of Tuscaloosa. Missing 3 straight days of turkey hunting while I'm not at work just isn't an option, so the wife and I are going to attempt some public land while we're out there.
Anyone ever hunt around here?
Seems to be a good bit of National Forest Land around there as well as 5 or so WMAs within an hour and a half of where we're staying.
Not wanting specific spots or anything. Just looking for info on turkey hunting in that area in general. Most notably, should I be prepared for a Paulding Forest/Cedar Creek type of hunt with trucks every quarter mile?
Any insight is greatly appreciated and feel free to shoot me a PM if you don't want to post anything out in the open.
