Benefit shoot for Thomas Vann

Thomas Vann is a dear friend of ours not only in the archery community, but in life itself. We've known Thomas for years, and have shot in many tournaments with him. Last fall, Thomas had every hunter's nightmare come true; the cable broke on his deer stand, and he fell several feet to the ground. With the grace of God, Thomas survived the fall, but sustained serious injuries to his neck. This terrible accident left him paralyzed from the chest down. Being an avid hunter and archer, he would love to be able to get back in the woods. Last weekend, someone brought him a trackchair to try out. As you can read in his wife's post below, he was able to stand for the first time since the accident. After seeing the smile and excitement come across his face, his wife knew that she would do whatever it took to be able to get him one of these chairs. This is where we come in. An accident like this could happen to any of us, so lets come together and support a fellow hunter!

Riverbend Archery Club will be hosting a benefit shoot on Saturday, August 26th, with sign in time from 8-2:30. All of the proceeds from the tournament will go straight to Thomas for his chair. We will also have some raffles that you can enter. What better way to get you ready for hunting season than to sling some arrows and help a buddy out.

Please help us get the word out!!
