I planted these plots the 1&2 of October they are looking good and the deer are flat wearing them out, i would like to thank all for the info on this process it has worked like its supposed to for me. I planted daikon radishes, oats/wheat/Wrens abruzzi, WIC, Durana, medium red, arrowleaf, dixie reseeding clovers & chicory they are different mixes in each plot but i am very happy with there progress and the timely rain fall we have had this year compared to last year, i cant wait to see them in the spring.

Great looking plots. Seems to have all the bases covered with the seed choices and various blends.
Keep us posted so we can see how the plots perform on into next summer.
Good work..

Is there another thread outlining your method, and seed ratio? I have a few freshly cleared areas that I would like to begin planting and would love to follow your procedure, as your fields look awesome.

Yes ...... you can check out CNC's (Crimson n Camo) thread where he's done a lot of work on this process.

My main recommendation to you, first, is to get a soil test done and get your lime put in the top 4" of soil, to start with. Lime moves slowly down in to the soil and I am sure, your soil, like "ours" is very acidic. That would give you a good start, to grow the "thatch", needed to "mow".
