Well...

OC has some nice bucks, I would bet Turner county does as well. Just a matter of if he gets to be enough years old to have good horns. OC gets hunted hard as it is in close proximity to Atlanta and Athens. I imagine TC gets alot less hunting pressure. I have hunted OC for 40+ years and have killed many nice bucks from there, but I am in clubs that practice Quality deer, so most bucks get to move on.

Most of Turner county is locked up by farming families that hunt. It’s tough finding good land there that isn’t already being hunted with good bucks, both are good counties though.

Look in the truck buck. Tell me what county had the most entries. Macon county had a large amount of entries. I would guess land in Macon co is going to get very expensive to lease in the near future

It has been for years. Dooly to. $20/acre is the norm

Monsters in Walton. Not very many large
tracts left (that I know of anyway).

Warren And Jefferson Counties have been good to me
over the years as well.
No problem to find a few acres there.
One more thing.
Some of the ones in Warren were on the Hancock line.
Never hunted Hancock but could see across the river from my spots.

I'd just say, look for the Ag. land.
Find feed, find deer.

Oglethorpe is terrible. Don't waste your time there. All the deer are gone and only armadillos and coyotes are left.

Try somewhere else. There are lots of HUGE deer in Cobb and Gwinnett county.

For what it is worth, the raw numbers of Truck-Buck entries for the last 13 seasons.

Better chance of killing a monster (i.e 160"+) in Turner. Same with Dooly, Worth, Lee, Macon and some others counties down that way. Simple combination of population, agriculture and Wisconsin GENETICS.
