First full moon after the Autumn Equinox has been known among white folks for many centuries as the "Harvest Moon" (i.e. time to stay up late gathering in your corn and so forth). The Following full moon is the "Hunter's Moon." In the days before spotlights this was a good night to creep around in the freshly harvested fields at night, taking advantage of the enhanced moonlight to kill deer.

This year, it will be the night of October 27th.

Thanx for posting. I hope to be out tracking a wounded deer on that night. I love it when you don't really need a flashlight. Was out tracking on the night of the blood moon and hoped to see that show, but it was overcast.
