Auto Insurance Question

Does the state of Georgia REQUIRE your spouse be added onto your auto policy?

No. But if she drives that vehicle she is supposed to. As is any regular driver.

You can loan out your vehicle and the driver will be covered. But only occasionally and infrequently. For short trips and amounts of time.

Most companies offer a driver exclusion form that basically says whoever you add to it will never operate your vehicle...even with your verbal permission. If a person who is listed on the exclusion form wrecks it, your insurance does not cover your car or ANY other party involved, which opens YOU (as the car owner) up for a lawsuit by any party invloved that your car hits.

Many auto insurance companies require anyoneof driving age living in your home to be listed on your policy or specifically excluded.

Or to state it another way, anyone living in your household who is not on your policy is not covered while operating the vehicle.
