The difference in those 2 situations are night and day. The LSU job didn't even open up until several days after signing day.

I agree that the details and timeline are different. Coach Ball didn't do anything wrong, but we still had some kids who felt betrayed.

It's interesting to see the ramifications of how he handled this.
There is a very real possibility that he just killed the "National Letter of Intent" as we know it today.

High school recruits are not required to sign an NLI to play college football. In fact, the NLI is more beneficial for the school than it is the player. It allows the school to lock in a player and gives the player no recourse should there be a change in his situation, a change in coaching or simply a change of heart.

Sounds pretty much a one way ticket.

Hopefully he’s a dawg for one more year. I guess we’ll see tomorrow. I can see it both ways
