Jax boat show checking jout the new line of salt combos from Lew's

Saw a lot of beautiful boats that I will never be able to afford and ate one of the best smoked sausage samiches I have ever had at one of the local food trucks. Hung out at the Skeeter booth with Blair Wiggins of Addictive fishing for awhile and played with his new signature series rods made by Lew's. Blair has been telling me for awhile about these combos and I could quickly see why. The inshore speed stick is a great all around rod. Light (but not too light) tip that will be great for anything from popping corks to bottom fishing (I can't wait to hook a ten pound sheepshead on that thing). The back bone is super strong, strong enough that will handle anything that you will find on the inshore. Saw one bend almost back to the handle with no signs of breaking which made me wanna chase bull reds with it. The offshore rods are exactly what you would expect and is the best jigging rod I've held to date (we will see how it performs on cobia this year). What I loved most was the grip and butt length. It felt like it was built for my hands. The textured grip didn't slip even when my hands were wet (I poured water on them at the booth to test this when Blair made the claim) and the butt is the perfect length to tuck under your arm yet not so long it's awkward. I currently run St. Croix and Key Largo but I will be replacing all of them with the Lew's signature series by cobia season. I am not a gear junky but am excited for the release of this rod next month.
