Ticks?

Is there anything that can be done to prevent ticks in the yard? There's a couple areas close to my son's play area outside where I pick up ticks regularly. Trying to find a way to get rid of them before it gets too hot.

If you own a dog or cat, inspect it every few days for ticks on the skin. Look particularly closely behind their ears and between their toes. A flea comb can also be used to comb out the ticks before they settle down to feed. Insecticides such as bifenthrin , deltamethrin , or esfenvalerate can be sprayed onto tick habitat. There is no advantage to spraying the entire yard; concentrate your efforts where the ticks are most likely to be found. Follow label directions.
Planting areas and mulched areas are favorites.
Chickens if you want and can have them help also.
