Just wanted to make sure everybody is aware of the dangers associated with bait plots.

They are responsible for killing the deer in Georgia.

Let me see if I can make this simple. The flu is spreading in us humans. I will still go to a restaurant but not if they make us all eat out of the same trough. That would increase my risk. Get it?

That's a terrible analogy for more reasons than I can list.

What these "Ban" threads posted by one person constitute is called "spamming the board". We have a rule about that. We pretty much enforce the rules.

I think Spam may be CWD in disguise.

Not thinking that's where the worms were.

https://www.qdma.com/6-ways-food-plots-not-baiting/

This post is basically a waste of time.

Deer eat out of ag fields all the time and I doubt seriously they know the difference between a “for profit” crop and an “I plant it for the health of the herd” crop.

As for this being the cause of the decline of the deer herd, I think we need to look at each states bag limits for this - and while I don’t propose to tell any other man how to hunt, when you have clubs with only 50 acres per member and each hunter wants 2 does and 2 bucks, that would be a harvest of 50+ deer per square mile.

Few properties can remain viable at this rate.

Regarding properties that do not have a good deer supply - in the vast majority of cases.... people are the problem and not a plant.

Only one thing controls a trigger - a person.

All mentioned IMHO.

You sir ar correct IMO. It's not baiting that's killing the deer, baiting is just someone's idea of manner of hunting, I wouldn't go through the trouble of baiting, but don't care if someone else does, when it effects all of us is when too many deer are killed. Someone hunting over corn does not make my life better or worse. There's many more things in life to worry about.

Of course, the elephant in the room with your hypothesis is that low population areas aren't plagued with CWD.

The topic is regarding where and how these animals contract CWD. Not what is causing a lower population in any particular state.

In states where the population is controlled via hunting, vehicle accident, etc. and it is below some mythical standard of deer p.s.m. CWD is not really an issue.
