Default Bama buck

I know this is Georgia Outdoor News but I moved to Alabama from Georgia last fall and thought I'd share my first Bama buck. The rut is just starting to kick into gear over here in the southern part of the state.

Nice buck! I hunt my grandfather's land in Russell Co.
Nice truck, too! I have the same one, only it's a GMC.

Nice buck. Where did you get him? The one in my avatar came from our family farm on the Marengo/Hale county line. Apparently the rut is just getting started over there. My brother-in-law killed a pretty nice 8 point last weekend that stunk to high heaven.

Shot him in Elmore County just north of Montgomery. Yep, I saw a six pointer chasing does yesterday like he was king of the woods and saw this dude at 8:30 this morning. There was a second buck with him and they came in after I grunted a few times. His tarsals were a little black and stinky but not as bad as I've seen them before. The next couple of weeks should be sweet with this cold weather coming in.

I am heading to Marengo County Thursday through Sunday. Should be just right. Thanks for re-firing me up!
