Default does WD-40 harm monofilament fishing line?

i was just wondering. i usually spray my reels with silicone spray, but when i did it today it left a sticky film on my reels so i had to wipr them reall good with WD to clean them up. it doesn't say anything on the can about plastic.

Default wd40

Just my opinion, but i know that wd40 is an oil, which can burn, and I can't see where that could be good for mono, except for casting! Warm soapy water cleans good.
