Default Rifle Caliber sources

I know the 308 because I once had one and also the 30-06 because my hunting buddy had one, and I did some target shooting with a 22 when I was a kid.
Besides those 3 calibers I'm pretty much lost. Are there any good online sources out there where I can learn about the different calibers?

Regards
Mike

Ammoguide is cool. Lots of great features. You can compare rounds, find handloads and if you wanted to even create your own cartridge.
