Thinking about a G19
I am thinking about getting a new glock. I am considering a g19 and g 30sf. I have a Kimber .45 so I am leaning toward the g19. Any opinions would be very helpful.

Good gun.....small enough to carry, but still large enough to hold comfortably. Plus the Glock quality is unbelievable. I don't know that I've ever heard of one not working when it was supposed to. Triggers are very easy to change out and parts are everywhere. You won't be dissapointed.

to address your question, i would go with the g30sf. i have the original g30 that rides around in my waistband everywhere I go. nice gun, and accurate as can be out to about 25 yards. 10+1 is a fistful in 45 acp.
one other bonus about the g30sf...you won't be adding another caliber since you already have a kimber, which i assume is also 45 acp. the g19 is a nice gun, but adding a 9mm to the stable (along with dies and components) has kept me from picking one up.

G19 was my first handgun and I still have it. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

G19 has a lot going for it. Easily concealed and 15 + 1 rd capacity makes it a great choice for CC. There are a lot of good holster choices. M-tac and desantis to name few.
Not to mention reliability and accuracy.

I carry a 1911 most of the time but the few times I carry something different it is always a G19. I love my G19s. I have factory 3# connectors in mine and that really improved the trigger feel.

The G19 is a fantastic little 9mm. I have had mine for three years now. For me, I usually carry a Kimber Stainless Pro Carry II. However, the G19 is my secondary carry weapon. It sits ready to go.

I have had a G19 for a few years now, and I will tell you, for the money you spend, there is probably no better 9mm in this price range. Yeah it would be nice to have a Sig or an HK, but the glock has never once failed to fire, and the trigger is just as nice as it was 5000 rounds ago. I have nothing negative to report about this weapon. Compared to my S&W 9mm, there's no contest. It's the Glock every time.

Crazy about my G30; we've all heard it, but I'd carry a .46 cal if they made one .

It is hard to beat the Glock. I like the 23, which is the same size, only in 40 S&W. I like the plus 2 mag extension on the 19 or 23 to have a place for my little finger to rest. The Glock or a revolver are the only two guns I recommend for a person to carry that doesn't compete with or practice a lot (especially draw to fire). If the Glock is loaded with one in the chamber, it will fire under a stressful situation, where if you have a gun with a safety that you are not familiar, it will get you shot while you are fumbling for the safety. I did get a trigger job on mine to make it smoother.

Actually the 19, or comparable size in the different calibers, handles pretty well w/ the fullsize mag. Example, put the Glock 17 mag in the 19 and it feels better in my large hand for shooting. Of course, while carrying, the 19 mag is shorter and easier to hide.

Agreed; like to use my G21 mags in my G30; figure if I really need 13+1 rounds mebbe I should've run instead of fight. .
Even the +0 extensions from Pearce make the subcompact 30 handier to handle. -s

Great Choice. I carried a G30 for the last 8 years. Last week picked up a G19. Now I rotate between the two. I am really suprised at how well the G19 shoots and how easy and fast a double tap can be accomplished. I have run about 5,000 rounds down the G30 and about 500 down the new G19 without a hiccup out of either.
I agree the 17 mag in the 19 works great as does the 21 mag in the 30.
On the 30sf you can use the 21sf mag.

I love my G19. Kinda thick for 24/7 concealed carry, but still one of my favorites of all time.
How does the G30 handle? Big recoil/kick? I've been curious about a 45 (either Glock or Springfield) but wasn't sure if that would be too much kick in a compact polymer frame. The only 45 I've shot is a full steel full size Kimber.

The recoil was not near what I expected . I thought that it would be worse in such a little 45 . In my opinion this gun shoots like a dream. I love it.
