Not okay to hunt over as it is considered bait but one thing we sometimes use with our salt licks during the summer is peanut butter. Just nail the lid to a tree and then screw the jar back onto the lid and use a nail to tap a few holes in the plastic jar.

3 ounces Pure Vanilla Extract mixed with 8 ounces water put it in a spray bottle. Makes a good cover scent and deer attractant.

i tried it this weekend for the 1st time and i had 8 doe's and 2 bucks come to it.

It's been debated on here a few times, but yes the imitation should work just as well.
