I recently bought this rifle from another forum member. And I really like it ! Talking with a serious Marlin guy, he informed me that there is probably collector interest in this model. So I thought I’d take a chance and see if he’s correct.
I am looking strictly for a specific trade – my Marlin 36G for any one of the many variations of Marlin model 39’s out there. I really like the 36G and would not be getting rid of it otherwise, except that I want a 39 more. Please note the 36G is not for sale – only trade for a 39 (Unless of course you want to purchase it for what a new model 39 costs).
The model 36G is the bottom rifle in the pictures. (The top is a 336T which is not for sale or trade)
Here is some info about 36G's for those that might care.
The Model 36G was basically a simplified Model 336 marketed under the Glenfield brand name instead of the Marlin name. They typically had stocks of inexpensive birch and round 20-inch standard-weight barrels. The rear sight was an adjustable spring-leaf and elevator type. The Model 36G was only built from 1964-66, but by this time 5930 had been built.
Variants included the Model 30, built from 1966-72, and the replacement for the Model 36G.
