Jake Rowe green scored it at 147 7/8. He said he walked from the road over 30 min. to get to where this deer had been seen by his friend.

Great deer, there's some good one's there, you just have to get away from the crowd. I'am curious was he by himself or after a doe?

All by himself, he shot and missed the first time, then he said it ran 30 yds, stopped then came back to exact place he was shot at first.

Just goes to show, if you get off the beaten path, it pays off.

Awesome! You don't see many typical 12 pointers, let alone on public land. That is a gorgeous symmetrical 12 point!

Lol!!! The other guy huntin uses his AK to deer hunt. The gun he shot it with is a model 110 Savage. Out of 35k+ acres, there has got to be some more big uns back there.

Out standing public land buck.Last wednesday was 12/7/2011, according to the regulations the last day for deer either sex on Redlands WMA was on 12/4/2011.It opens back up for either sex deer on 12/26/2011-1/1/2012.Did your buddy take this buck when the WMA was closed?Seems to me like your buddy was deer hunting on a closed WMA.Did he sign it out at the check station?

I think "closed to either sex" means NO DOES. That does not appear to be a doe unless those are some mighty fine carved oak branches.

NO T.P. you are wrong last Wednesday was december 7th,maybe you are living in 2010, but the rest of us are in 2011, you might want to look at your calender or look at your 2011-2012 hunting regulations. And for MAC2 you are carls dream in redlands"GEE MR.GAME WARDEN I DIDNT NO REDLANDS WAS CLOSED FOR DEER,I THOUGHT IT WAS BUCK ONLY,DO I HAVE TO TURN AROUND AND REALLY PUT MY HANDS BEHIND MY BACK SO YOU CAN HANDCUFF ME AND CHARGE ME WITH HUNTING DEER ON A CLOSED WMA".You boys really need to read the regulations, anybody can poach a good buck.

To Gobbler521, this isn't about being jealous. And mind my own business? Are you serious? Why have regulations on A wma or private land.I saw a good 8pointer on cedar creek when it was closed for deer in August. Did I shoot it? No, so what is the difference between poaching a deer on a closed WMA and shooting a deer with a 22magnum in august.Gobbler 521 is the reason why gamewardens are needed to enforce the laws on the books. It is this attitude that gobbler521 has that affects us all as hunters,"Do anything you can legal or illegal to get that deer mount over my fireplace".What a fine example!

Hope the DNR is monitoring this site cause it sure sounds as if this buck might have been killed out of legal season for Redlands WMA.

Try looking at the date it was put on here!! It was put on here the 9th, so when he says it was killed last Wednesday that means it would of been killed November 30th... the day you look at it does not mean that it was put up that day... So make sure you know what your talkin about before you post something!!!

If I remember right Wednesday December 7 was cloudy and raining about all day and I see sunlight in the woods pictures. Probably was killed on November 30 the OP just worded it wrong.

Great buck. I have seen a few good bucks crossing highway 15 just below the check station.

Just me but if it was killed two days before I posted I would have said " a couple days ago." Or just "Wednesday." I think the OP was specifying the previous week by saying "last Wednesday."

That's the way I read it, too. And congrats to your buddy, that's an awesome buck anywhere, but especially for public land.

To:hunter797,first off the post was put up on 12/09/11 which was a friday.Last wednesday was 12/07/11.You are probably dazed and confused and are in dire need of a day timer book or a calender, I dont know which one would help you the best. And a copy of the 2011-2012 georgia hunting regulations(which can be picked up at your local walmart),along with a day timer(mead makes the best).To,A.Taylor.Have you ever shot a deer in less than favorable conditions?I shot a nice 7ptr on nov.10th at cedar creek wma,it was 7:30am and cloudy and rainey(check the weather reports for the day)I also did check him out with C. Killmaster. What you have here is like the many of posts that are always asking, when is this wma open?or when is the onf open for deer?If you look back at last weeks posts, a fella is trying to take a crack at the onf last week for deer and it has been closed since 11/30/11.WOW, I guess some people are to lazy or close minded(OR CAN'T READ) to open up the regulations to see what is open.Bubba shot a good trophy buck, but is is polluted and tainted as an illegal buck and could not be entered into the truck buck contest(READ THE RULES).And if the game warden out at redlands gets wind of an illegal buck being taken on his wma the year before he retires he will have that rack, trust me.A little advice to 4x4offroad99,shut this thread down and hide your buddies rack far from redlands, you might just end up as lucky as billy joe padgett if you follow my advice.

Yep, I hate to be controversial but it sure looks like your good buddy shot him a nice buck on a closed WMA? I mean if your going to throw your buddy under the bus or the log truck by posting his picture and all on the 9th with that statement of last Wednesday being the 7th, I guess the only way to know is if your buddy signed it out at the check station??? Well did he?

A.taylor was not saying that he couldn't of killed it on a rainy day, he was sayin that that the 7th was rainy and cloudy all day and in the picture it was sunny and no clouds so he must of not killed it on the 7th... and if it is Friday and someone says i killed a deer Wednesday it would be the Wednesday as in 2 days ago, but if they say i killed it last Wednesday it would be the Wednesday as in last week...
