IBO at Twin Oaks July 2012

I did ya'll proud with the amount of pics I got. :bounce:

And I REALLY did the IBO and Twin Oaks proud, with the amount of smiles I captured!!!!! :bounce:

Jeff and I arrived at Twin Oaks early on Friday morning and didn't leave until the last award was handed out on Sunday afternoon. It was pretty warm and humid but if you was lucky, you caught a breeze at times. The folks there did their best to keep everyone hydrated and with fans going PLUS a wonderful tent with AC going to visit it was OK.....there was only one young lady that had a heat episode (that I knew about and assisted with) and with rest plus fluids she finished the course on Sunday and won 3rd place in Youth!!!!! I was proud of Samantha!!!!!

2nd batch:

I went thru taking shots of some of the vendors here. The last 3 pics are the big AC tent to "catch your breath" in.....course by Sunday it had a distinct smell of a locker room!!! :hair:

BUT was still much appreciated by ALL!!!! :fine:

3rd batch:

No matter where I went, I always found folks with a greeting and a smile! I got lots of friends, couples, parents, grandparents, old and young......one thing in common.....the love of traditional archery. :bounce:

No matter how hot it is, there's ALWAYS someone knapping and someone learning to knapp!!!!
The creek was where alot of kids got cool!!!!
I caught a Spanky with a GIANT grin and even a fine friend from Cleveland,TN!!!!!

4th batch:

5th batch:

Lots more grins and smiles!!!! :bounce:

The trio in red were from Marcilla, Spain. They spoke VERY minimal English.....and the lady, Encarna Garrido Lazaro, won the buckle in Women's LongBow!! :bounce:

The gentleman on her left also placed in one of the men's classes, as well!!!!! :bounce:

She delighted all of us with her greetings and thank yous....she gave the "European kiss" (both sides of your face!) to all!!!! :bounce:

6th batch:

Our host and hostess for the weekend was Joanie and Mark (Pappy) Baggett, shown here in front of the map they encourage everyone to put a pin where they're from on, so we can all see where folks come from. Joanie was even more proud of a painting a friend named Sue Moore painted for her. It's of her "Mark" and their cabin. She told Joanie it was so she would always be able to see her Blessings, as well as, have them.

Sunday morning found lots of folks warming up on the practice range....and lots of spectators cheering them on!!!!! :bounce:

Then we had to wait for our time to go and shoot!!!! :bounce:

I caught some of the ladies shooting groups on the course, hot and sweaty but enjoying the time together!!!! :bounce:

I was mighty proud of my group!!!left to right - Sue Bigham, Vivian Bryant, Diana Smith, Debra Weaver and myself. We were so glad to be thru the course, we just got silly!!!!! :banana:

Got to "connect the dots" with Arvin and Deb Weaver from TX ALLLLLLL the way to our own Artest hisself Hatchetbow Dan!!!!! :bounce:

And when asked, Mr Arvin, generously gave us an osage bow he had made, for our TBG Banquet Raffel!!! :bounce:

And the last pic is my very good friend Clyde Gaskins from Camden,TN. He is holding a warclub for a young brave, that he donated to the TBG Banquet Raffel as well!!! :bounce:

SOMEONE told me to "Hush"....imagine that!!!!!! :rofl:

waiting for the awards to be given out....first off was the Twin Oaks Hunters Challenge, followed by the IBO awards. Lots of very deserving folks.....
Congratulations to each winner and to all that took up their bow and arrows this weekend to come to the beautiful Tennessee hills to shoot archery.......
I want to personally "thank you" and invite you back every chance you get........ :bounce:

That is a very interesting gentleman; much like Barry. :biggrin2:

Those things between his shoes and his shorts are snake leggins. I had the pleasure of shooting about 1/2 the HC
course with him on Sunday. If he wants you to know something, he will just tell you. :bounce:
