New PB channel cat

Had a pretty good weekend on Lanier with all this cloud cover. Saturday I went to my usual spot and managed a handfull of channels under 3 pounds. Sunday I slipped my kayak down to a spot that I've been itching to try out and lost a monster within 5 minutes but got redemption with my new pb channel via kayak at roughly 15lbs

My biggest channel was at 12lbs, who knows he could be the big one that you caught.
Nice catch

If you don't mind me asking, what were you using for bait?

That’s a fine mess of cats……I love eating catfish, I can eat pounds and pounds of it!!!

I bet that was fun catching them out of a YAK like that.

Congrats on the PB and awesome times!

That's awesome! But I believe I'd have them bad boys on a stringer, and not flopping round in the yak with me

I'm having a hard time hooking up with any Lanier cats. We're you just fishing on bottom? What pound test were you using. As a side note I was thinking about getting a kayak soon...can't afford a boat but love to fish! Thanks.

Just fish on the bottom with cutbait. I use a basic Carolina rig with 14 lb mono. If you're not getting a bite every 5 minutes then you're not in the right place. Find some shallow water with heavy cover like rocks, trees, beaver dams etc about 2-6ft
