40 minutes to go, if it's going to launch. Countdown is suspended.

That was a freakin phenomenal launch. I think landing the two side boosters simultaneously at Canaveral was about as impressive.

The booster landing was awesome, but I'm smelling trouble since they haven't announced the final landing.

Elon Musk is embarrassing NASA with what is able to achieve vs the trillions they've spent over the years and never could land a rocket stage vertically.

Oh no doubt, but that's because private companies are incentivized to innovate where government project are incentivized only the project's goals and nothing but those goals for the lowest cost possible.

Yup compare the results and cost of doing things today against NASA. Don't forget todays results build on all that NASA learned, and paid for.

Amazing. My son and I sat at my desk, had it playing in HD on both 20" monitors and the speakers blasting. Love it!

The booster landings were straight up out of a Sci-Fi movie! Absolutely unbelievable. Sad day, NASA is old hat thanks to Boma.

I'm pretty sure the vertical landing of rockets was all private ingenuity, since NASA tried for decades and never figure it out.

NASA is hedging it's bets on Lockheed-Martin / Boeing joint venture aka United Alliance. The issue is, it costs UA $380 million per launch with no readily recoverable assets of the rocket. Musk launches occur at $90 million per launch with the rocket boosters landing safely and vertically back on earth and reusable for future launches exponentially reducing the cost of each launch.

NASA awarded UA a $4.2 billion contract to compete for sending humans to the ISS. They simultaneously awarded Musk $2.6 billion in contract to compete for the same.

My money is on Musk. His business philosophy is far superior to the others.

Very impressive all the way around, the booster landings were phenomenal. Has anybody heard if the sea landing went well?
