16 acres

Well I know 16 acres ain’t a lot of land but it’s enough to let me hang a few stands and hunt behind my house. I get to spend more time with family instead of driving. Even though I’m in a club and I enjoy going down there with friends. I found it hard to hunt any where else this year. It all started last year when I tagged out first week of December. Then as luck would have it I had a big 10 show up. I had him on camera 4 times between second week in December and first week in January. 2 night and 2 daytime. Then he disappeared. It drove me close to insanity trying to find him or figure out what happened. This year I had a nice 7 show up and I knew where he was crossing. I hunted there opening day of bow season and the 7 showed up 10 minutes after daylight. I drew back but didn’t feel comfortable with the shot and let him walk. That was the last I saw him. Fast forward to opening day of gun season. My brother was getting married that weekend in Virginia so we had to go out of town for that. Checked my cameras when I got home and guess who is on it. The big 10 from last year. In the daylight. I hunted him every evening. He didn’t show back up. Halloween was the only evening I didn’t hunt. We took our 2 year old trick or treating. Well guess who spends 45 minutes under my tree stand that evening. You guessed it the 10. Anyways it never worked out. I had a good season. Had a lot of good deer hanging around and I’m sure it’ll just keep getting better. Sorry for the long read. By the way what do y’all guess he will score. Split picture is last year and this year.

A couple of the best spots I've ever hunted in my life have been 10-15 acres.

I can take a Hundred Acres and whittle it down to 3 or 4 good spots....
Might take me a couple years but I'll be set till the woods change again..

Low 120’s, if he touches P&Y it would be barely. His 2’s look a little weak and 4’s almost non existence...just being honest. I’d still bust him given the chance, he’s 4.5yo+. The trophy is in the eye of the beholder anyways, if you want em then go after him! Hope to see some pics of you holding him in the future!

I'll take a perfect 10 acres over a poor 100 acres any day. I hunt a 20 acre patch of family land that produces really well. It sits between 2 large tracts, one that is logged, the other that backs up to a development. I have a stream and and densely wooded and the deer use it as a funnel.
