This turned out to be a Team Hollywood hunt
I made the ride over to the Chattahoochee National Forest this morning to meet up with JCarter and Gadget who are camping over there for a few days. Meet up with them before daylight and got some very good MRI from them. They both pointed at a ridge top and told me that they had heard one gobble there yesterday. I took off and made my way up the ridge. I busted a hen out and held up there until I could see. Within the next 5 minutes 3 more hens flew over and behind me. It's not always a good thing to bump birds, but sometimes it works out for you. I knew there were probably more bird along this ridge top....I let out a series of yelps on my trumpet and heard another bird fly down in front. Couple of minutes later I see a longbeard at 32 yards looking. I was done by 7:20
Gotta give it up to J and Gadget for bird dogging this one.
Maybe Gadget will let us know what happened on Saturday at 35 yards.
