I've heard some doubt the 2nd rut,...or maybe just disagree with the name "2nd rut"...but here is an example of Mid-December activity.

dont know if you can see, but in the red rectangle a nice buck pops out at the field edge watching those doe

Any doe that didn’t get bred the 1st time around will get bred. Been seeing scrapes during turkey season my whole life. I’m a 2nd rut believer and a 3rd and so on.
