? about tasco

I have a Tasco world class 3x9x40 that I received as a gift seven or eight years ago.Recently while hunting in the rain it fogged up.I went on their website and got the contact info to call for service.I was informed Tasco had bankrupted and Bushnell now owns them.Anything manufactured before '02 is no longer warranted.Question:is this scope just junk now?Can I do anything to fix it?When they bought the co.did they acquire the warranty problems?Anybody else had to deal with this and if so,did you get a positive resolution to the problem?thanks for looking,donnie
