Was drawn for the hunt there this weekend. Anyone else? Or has anyone ever shot there before?

Quota hunt is generally good. But no matter how good it is Saturday, don’t go back Sunday when it’s open to the public. That place will have a hunter every 10 yards if not closer and whatever flys gets shot at whether it’s 3ft off the deck or 3000ft!

I went last year, and it was terribly disappointing. Used several points to draw the quota, and I was out of state on assignment the 2 weeks before, so no scouting. The field looked to be about a month old, and was green all over. Total waste of a good Saturday. Several folks there grilling under the shade told me the field had been too wet to plant on time, but I didn't know that prior. Doubt I'll try that one again.

Think the issue last year was the rain. It was the same at Chickasaw. They planted, mowed, and burned it. It seeded anyways. Chickasaw looked like a huge greenfield food plot.

Years ago, I used to train my dog there,
....lots of quail back then. Have no clue as to now. Never put in for the quota hunt there.
