Alligator Claws, How do I

I wan to remove the claws off of the feet to make something for my step-son. What is the best way to go about this and preserve them? Looking at making him some type of necklace, we retrieved the bullet that was used to kill him so was looking to put it on and couple claws on either side of it.

Reach out to a taxidermist for info, surely whomever you've been paying to mount your deer and fish would be willing to help his customers with some free knowledge and or tips. If no one local can help you then call one in Florida and I bet they might help you, since they probably have more experience with water lizards anyways.

You can cure them with 20 Mule Team Borax. We just cut ours off.
