Altamaha River - Eason Bluff

Today was my first fishing trip this year, medical appointments, hospital, water to high, it was hard getting there but I made it today. Well the water is about 3 ft. to high, the May Flies have just hatched out and a cool front came through, in other words the fish were not wanting to bite. But as I told my wife years ago, a good fisherman can always catch fish. In two hours of river fishing I had 4 channel cats big enough to keep. At least I had something to flavor the grease. My next stop was to try the lake for bream or shellcrackers. The water was all out in the swamp so the fish were every where. After and hour of checking my favorite spots I had 2 bream and 3 shell crackers. The bream were good hand size and the shell crackers would go extra large size.

Over all fun trip and enough fish for my wife and me for supper tonight.

I expect next week will be a good time for another trip or two.

I always wanted to fish the Altamaha for Brim and put out some set hooks for Flatheads.
