Ants and Canoe

Well I just moved and lost my garage. I will need to store my canoe outside. I am going to make a canoe stand out of 4x4's and keep it upside down outside. Anyone know how to keep ants from climbing up the 4x4 post and squatin in my canoe?
Somthing sticky? Somthing ants hate?

Maybe put some grease on the bottom of the posts. That's how I keep them out of my bird feeders.

Spray the legs of the posts with insecticide. I use a 3-month Spectracide spray around the perimeter of the house that works well.

Maybe look into some of the fence posts covered with vinyl or use some sort of vinyl plastic barriers where the boat rests. I know they can't climb vinyl siding on a house at least not going upside down and horizontal, because we have humming bird feeders hanging in front our windows and no ants have ever gotten close to them.

Ants like a high and dry place in the rainy times.

I'd use a high end bug spray
