Any rock will do

I enjoy finding scrapers almost as much as finding points. It seems like every chip, flake or chunk of rock is used for something.I started keeping them all and must have a few hundred. In the picture I have a turtleback and two thumb scrapers plus a conglomeration of others showing color, size and shape. All have a pressure flaked edge somewhere.

I think un-pressure flaked thinning flakes were used a lot too. I know when I’ve made stuff with stone tools, I am constantly picking up a waste flake and using it. A flake will never be as sharp again as it is when it’s first spalled off. Pressure flaking the edge dulls it considerably.
