There's a word that was not part of my vocabulary. I looked it up and can say it sure applies to this idea.

I about choked at the part about it providing an opportunity to purchase "affordable" recreational / retirement lake lots for nearby military personnel. Like they would sell lakefront property for much less than the going rates everywhere else. Ha!! Someone is trying to get taxpayers and property owners to make huge sacrifices in order for him to get richer.

Similar situation but Jimmy Carter did a good thing as president by exposing wasteful water projects/proposed lakes/dams.

Not all proposed lakes are a bad idea and GA has had several water supply lakes built in the last decade but nothing even close to 28,000 acres.
