Atlanta Hawks

Thanks for the update. I followed the online play-by-play for the 1st Half where Hawks fell behind by 22-pts. but had a great comeback to only be down by 3 at the half.

Atlanta barely won over a great team without Bucks' all-star dominating best player Giannis Antetokounmpo (sprained right ankle). Hawks had 3 players with double doubles & 3 players with over 20-pts. Atlanta's Justin Anderson came out of nowhere for me delivering his best game of the season with 24-pts. & 12-rebs, barely ahead of Collins having 23-pts. & 12 rebs, while Alex Len had 23-pts., & Trae 12-pts. & 16 assists.

Doncic (DNP, thigh issues) may still be slightly ahead in stats of T. Young for rookie of the year.

Hawks set a team game record for 3-ptrs. totaling 22.

Hawks' Trae Young future could be similar to Suns' Devin Booker who almost had his 3rd 50-pt. or more game in a row (48, 50, 59) who was drafted by Phoenix in 2015.

We should be able to draft someone that can be a starter next year with the 2 high picks we have. Be nice if we won the lottery.

Hawks, Trae Young, & John Collins have another good game, with 7 players scoring in double figures, against a playoff bound team which has a winning record that's opposite of Atlanta's record.

Young 33 PTS / 12 AST / 7 REB

Collins 25 PTS / 8 REB / 2 BLK

Bembry 17 PTS / 6 REB / 4 AST

Prince 13 PTS / 3 REB / 2 AST

Len 11 PTS 3 REB / 1 BLK

Recap:

Young, Collins help Hawks beat Sixers again

April 3, 2019

''They have a great offense, there's a lot of movement, they space the floor well,'' Redick said. ''Trae Young and John Collins - their two-man action presents a lot of problems - and Trae's just playing at another level in terms of making reads right now.''

Young had 33 points and 12 assists, Collins added 25 points, and Atlanta beat Philadelphia 130-122 on Wednesday night

Young had his 17th game, tied for third-most in the NBA, with at least 20 points and 10 assists. Russell Westbrook has 24 and James Harden 23.

42-year-old Vince Carter said before the game that he's leaning toward coming back next season for what would be his 22nd in the NBA and wants to return for a second season with Atlanta

Hawks got whipped tonight and need some better defensive players. Hoping our 2 high picks net at least real defender.

Yep, Atlanta was blown out by smoking hot Orlando with high FG & 3PT percentages & a 1st Half franchise scoring record. Hawks had a very weak, slow start in the 1st Qtr., but was strong scoring the other Qtr's.

Hope we can get one more win in the final two games to finish with a 30-win losing record season, but not likely against 2 good teams, unless they don't play their better players who they may rest for the playoffs.

Missed having Trae Young & John Collins having the day off during Sunday's game yesterday where the playoff bound Bucks getting their 60th win had their best all-star, Giannis Antetokounmpo, playing (who did not play the last game, March 31st, against the Hawks who won). Surprising that it was still a reasonably close game.

Hope Young & Collins play the last game on Wednesday.

Yep, what a great impressive career high scoring night for him barely passing Giannis's scoring, especially hitting six 3-ptrs. Wish he played like that all the time, or at least more consistently. Good having tallest players in the league hitting long outside shots instead of just put backs or tip-ins under the basket. Glad he's had several really fine scoring games this season.

Just now learned about Jeremy Lin going to a way better playoff bound & division winning team in Toronto back in mid Feb.

Last game tonight at 8pm in Atlanta against playoff bound Indiana with Hawks' best players available for a final battle.

http://www.espn.com/nba/recap?gameId=401071875

Recap Quote from Last Game

Hawks: Young (19.1 points per game), who had started all 80 games, and Collins (19.5 PPG) did not play due to load management. "We figured today would be a good day to sit them and finish the season on a high note at home," coach Lloyd Pierce said. "That's really important for us as a team and with what we've been through this year."

Thanks for posting all the great Hawks info this season Born to.

Yes, Sir. Glad to throw a few interesting things out there for discussion that I stumble across no matter which way people go with it.

Don't give up on Trae Young getting the Rookie of the Year award since none of us know who it will be & has not been officially announced by the NBA yet.

Disappointing to hear Trae Young did not win the Rookie of the Year award which was won by Luka Doncic.

Doncic wins ROY

Luka Doncic entered the NBA with a lot of hype, and the Dallas Mavericks' swingman backed it up by earning the NBA's 2018-19 Rookie of the Year award.

Doncic, 20, beat Atlanta point guard Trae Young and Phoenix center Deandre Ayton for Rookie of the Year. The No. 3 pick in the 2018 draft won the award in a landslide, receiving 98 of 100 first-place votes.
