The only eastern diamondback I've ever seen, I almost stepped on him. I did a mid stride leap to miss him. He never curled up or rattled. I stood there watching him for a minute and I threw a small stick near him and he just slithered off slowly. It was mid/late august so he was pretty warm. He was pretty docile.
Haha! My son had the “urge” hit dove hunting Saturday and stepped off in the woods about 20 yards and was in mid squat when he turned around to see a white open mouth! He said I never even thought about pulling up my pants, just grabbed the gun and shot!
I asked if he ever went? He said, Nope! After that I didn’t have to go anymore!!
