Bear Dog in Bear Camp

Bear Dog worked his 5th bear camp and did well. Several tracks over 1/2 mile and several bears recovered that certainly would have been lost due to thick bogs and black spruce timber. I had a tag and never even thought of hunting. Just enjoyed working that hound. We tracked up to three bears per morning and had a great time. Most all the hunters shot trad bows and were a lot of fun to be around.

For some reason most of my pictures won’t post but here are a few...

Most all of the hunters shot long bows or recurves but one had a self bow that he made himself. About half the bears were shot from the ground and every bear (14) was shot at less than 10 yards. Really exciting hunts to film. One bear bellowed so loud that it sounded exactly like an elk bugling.

Looks like happy hunters and a happy Bavarian. Can't ask for more than that. Great pics, thanks for sharing.

Wow, really nice of you to help out those hunters. You should have been the second most popular, coming in right after your dog!
